Natural Touch: Making a Big Catalog Feel Easy to Shop

Natural Touch had the traffic and the catalog. What it didn't have was a way for shoppers to find what they wanted without digging through rigid category trees. We built a custom SaaS platform around AI-powered product discovery instead.

The problem wasn't the catalog. It was the path through it.

Natural Touch came to us with a familiar problem dressed up as a good one to have: a broad catalog and steady traffic that wasn't converting the way it should. Customers were landing on the site, browsing, and leaving without finding the specific thing they actually wanted, not because the product wasn't there, but because the path to it ran through category trees that assumed shoppers already knew how the catalog was organized.

We built Natural Touch a custom SaaS platform centered on AI-powered product discovery, letting shoppers find products based on what they're actually describing or searching for, rather than forcing every path through a fixed category hierarchy. The system interprets real shopper intent, not just keyword matches against product titles, so a vague or natural-language query still surfaces genuinely relevant results instead of an empty search page or a wall of loosely related items.

Designed mobile-first, not bolted on afterward.

The experience was designed mobile-first from the start, since that's where the majority of Natural Touch's traffic actually shops, rather than a desktop-first build with a responsive layer bolted on afterward. Integrated payments and analytics were part of the platform from day one, giving the team a single source of truth for what was actually working instead of stitching together separate tools that don't agree with each other.

That same AI-adopted design discipline runs through the storefront itself: a genuinely large fragrance and skincare catalog, with real pricing and promotions live from day one, not a handful of sample products in a demo environment.

What changed: shoppers stopped thinking like merchandisers.

The finished platform gives Natural Touch's shoppers a genuinely different way to get to the right product: describe what you want, and the system surfaces relevant results instead of asking you to first guess the right category. That shift matters more on mobile, where patience for digging through nested menus is lowest and where most of Natural Touch's actual customers are shopping.

Integrated analytics also changed how the team makes decisions day to day. Instead of requesting a report and waiting, or reconciling numbers across three disconnected tools, the team can see what's actually converting and adjust merchandising and content accordingly, in the same platform where the shopping experience itself lives.

“Natural Touch didn't need a bigger catalog page. It needed shoppers to stop having to think like a merchandiser just to find a product.”

What This Project Proved

01

A big catalog needs a discovery layer, not just better navigation

Reorganizing categories treats a symptom. AI-powered discovery addresses the actual gap between what a shopper is thinking and what the site lets them search for.

02

Mobile-first isn't a checkbox, it's a design starting point

Building for the device where most customers actually shop changes real decisions about layout, speed, and interaction, not just screen size.

03

Integrated analytics change behavior, not just reporting

When the team can see what's working without waiting on a report, they act on it faster, and that speed compounds over a quarter.

Is Your Catalog Bigger Than Your Customers' Patience for Finding Things in It?

SnapTec builds custom SaaS platforms around how your shoppers actually search and browse, not a generic category-first template that assumes they already know your catalog structure.
